For my submission to RAMP 2024, a yearly Doom community mapping project, I decided I wanted to explore the more complex feature sets of modern source ports like UZDoom. I wanted to make an eerie atmosphere, inspired by dark, industrial sci-fi. To set this dark mood, I made extensive use of features like colored sector lighting, sector fog and 3D floors. This was my first foray into the more modern UDMF map format, along with its aforementioned extra features.

Overall, I’m quite pleased with the result and I received praise for the map’s atmosphere and texturing. One area which the map could’ve been improved would be in more interesting combat encounters. Especially in regards to different enemy dynamics. I would end up exploring this more in my RAMP 2025 submission!
